Numerous Penn State players make ESPN's too-early 2025 All-American teams: Newsstand
Penn State news, notes, and updates for Feb. 4 include an early 2025 All-American team from ESPN, headlines of the day, and more. It’s time to dive into Tuesday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.
Penn State tweets of the day
ESPN has put out its initial 2025 All-American team projections. Penn State is well-represented. Running back Nick Singleton and guard Vega Ioane are first-team picks. Kaytron Allen and Zane Durant, then, were second-team selections.
“Double Trouble will return next season to fuel Penn State’s running game,” Chris Low writes. “Not only is the 6-foot, 226-pound Singleton coming back for his senior year, so is Allen. They will again share the load, and Singleton is easily one of the most versatile running backs in the country. He rushed for 1,099 yards a year ago and averaged 6.4 yards per carry. He was third on Penn State with 41 catches and accounted for 17 touchdowns (12 rushing, 5 receiving).
“An absolute mauler as a blocker, the 6-4, 350-pound Ioane blossomed into one of the Big Ten’s best interior offensive linemen last season. And with Ioane back, along with Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen at running back, the Nittany Lions should have one of the top rushing attacks in college football. Ioane’s quickness for someone his size is something to see.”

Quote of the day
“After spending time with Coach Hagans and Coach Franklin last week, it was nice to sit down with them again to go over some questions we had,” Salmin said. “The things that me and my family like about Penn State are that they are strong in both football and academics and that we have good relationships with the coaches. They seem excited about how I could contribute to their offense.
“It was my first junior day at Penn State, so I learned some things about how Coach [Marques] Hagans runs his wide receiver room, some things about academics and I got my first campus tour. It was great to get back and see all the recruiting staff and the coaches.”
