The offseason is a time for players to improve their game physically and mentally for the upcoming season. Big jumps in play don’t come during the season as often as during the offseason. So, while we just wrapped up a series focusing on that aspect of the offseason, it’s important to remember the things the team was good at the previous year. So, let’s focus on what the Penn State offense was good at in 2023. We’ll start at the most hotly debated position: quarterback. Drew Allar had his ups and downs last season, which included a coordinator change. As usual, the quarterback took a larger portion of the blame when things didn’t go right, regardless of the validity. So let’s course correct a bit and look at the positive signs from Allar’s first season.
