Penn State tweets of the day

We start with a focus on the 21st annual Lift for Life event. The fundraiser for the rare disease community will kick off at 4 p.m. ET at Holuba Hall. While the lifting and conditioning competition will be held indoors, those looking to attend will have a dry weather day for traveling to and from it but temperatures are expected to top out at 90 degrees. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

A donation of $10 for adults and $5 for children is recommended but not required to help the players raise money for the Penn State Uplifting Athletes chapter, which has raised roughly $1.5 million since 2003. The offense will take on the defense in various competitions. And, a kids clinic will run 4:30-5:30 p.m. ET. As for parking, the athletic department provided the following information in a news release:

“Fans are asked to park in Jordan East (formerly Lot 44). Fans will be required to pay for parking via the ParkMobile app. Download the ParkMobile app or visit ParkMobile’s Penn State site to learn more.”

Those who are not attending but wish to donate can do so can by clicking here.

Quote of the day

“How do you win football games? If you look at the statistics, you win football games by creating takeaways and eliminating explosive plays. How do you create takeaways? Usually by doing things that are disruptive, Well, sometimes those disruptive things have a little risk involved, right? And you want to also not give up explosive plays.

“So, I think that you got to sometimes let the talent create the disruption. That creates the negative plays and the takeaways. And then you’re also structurally set up in a way to where you don’t give up explosive plays.”
