Penn State head coach James Franklin wasn’t the only Lasch Building staffer who discussed the incoming recruiting class Wednesday.

Just like in previous years, Penn State’s recruiting coordinators, Terry Smith and Taylor Stubblefield, as well as Director of Player Personnel Andy Frank, met with the media over Zoom for about 20 minutes.

Stubblefield, who coaches the wide receivers, oversees offensive recruiting, with Smith overseeing the defense. Frank oversees the entire recruiting staff, which has seven additional members. That Penn State staff includes Kenny Sanders, Dann Kabala, Destiny Rodriguez, Caleb Tyler, Chris Mahon, Alan Zemaitis and Hunter Carson.

On Thursday, Frank was named as one of college football’s best personnel assistants in a poll by The Athletic. Frank, who’s been at Penn State since Franklin took over, was tied for seventh-best in the poll out of more than 50 personnel assistants across college football who received votes.

“He’s an intelligent, detailed veteran. He’s one of the guys I trust that I call anytime I’m looking into any situation and need feedback of advice,” said an anonymous college football staffer about Frank.
