It’s time to dive into Friday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with even more recognition for Penn State freshman running back Nick Singleton.

A couple of days after making On3’s preseason true freshman All-American team, Singleton was named to ESPN’s version.

Keyvone Lee may be back for Penn State, but Singleton is too fast and too refined to not have a significant role this fall,” ESPN analyst Tom Luginbill writes.

“He brings game-breaking ability to the offense, and when he’s in space, produces big, explosive plays that the Nittany Lions’ offense has been lacking.”

Singleton has not yet taken a snap for Penn State, of course. But, the hype train long ago left the station for both him and classmate Kaytron Allen, who deserves high praise in his own right for coming in and making a strong impression right away. Lee is currently the starter. But, he has stiff competition to keep his job.

In other news, Washington Commanders receiver Jahan Dotson made a ridiculously nice touchdown catch in camp this week. The caption says it all: “YUP it’s a catch You know it’s good when even the DBs agree”.

Quote of the day

“We’re all about taking the ball away. We don’t harp on the penalties or anything like that. We just harp on making our corrections. When you play a position like corner, every snap, there is something wrong, whether it’s their eye discipline, their footwork, or their hand placement. You can always nitpick something. So we don’t harp on those things.

“We watch the film and make corrections. But we want them to be aggressive. The way you change the game is to take the ball away, and that’s how we want to change the game.”
