Penn State basketball notes: Nonconference opponent revealed, Coaches vs Cancer golf tournament date set
Penn State Nittany Lions basketball will host Fairleigh Dickinson during its 2022-23 nonconference slate, according to a report by Jon Rothstein.
Fairleigh Dickinson finished last season with a 4-22 overall record. The Knights also received a fifth win via a forfeit.
KenPom ranked the Knights 345th out of 358 teams in college basketball.
Typically, though, the Knights are players in the Northeast Conference, with two conference tournament titles since 2016 under head coach Greg Herenda.
The Nittany Lions hold a 2-0 record against the Knights all time — most recently securing an 81-57 victory at the Bryce Jordan Center in November 2017.
What we know so far about Penn State basketball’s schedule
The Nittany Lions are slated to take part in next season’s Charleston Classic event in South Carolina.

Coaches vs Cancer golf tournament date announced
The 25th-annual Coaches vs. Cancer Penn State Golf Tournament is slated for June 3 at the Penn State Golf Courses.
Hosted by head coach Micah Shrewsberry, the event raises money for the American Cancer Society, which supports cancer research and mission programs in the community.
Former Penn State head coach Bruce Parkhill established the PSU chapter of Coaches vs Cancer in 1995. Jerry Dunn, Ed DeChellis and Patrick Chambers have continued his effort since.
The golf tournament has raised over $2 million since Dunn first implemented it in 1997.
