Penn State Board of Trustees to vote on Beaver Stadium naming rights deal Monday: Sources

The Penn State Board of Trustees and its Finance and Investment Committee have called a “special meeting” that is scheduled for Monday at 9:30 a.m. ET. The lone agenda item is a “Proposed Recommendation from the Facilities and Academic Unit Naming Committee.”
Blue White Illustrated has learned that the proposed recommendation centers on a naming rights partnership for Beaver Stadium. The iconic home of Penn State football is currently undergoing parts of a planned $700 million renovation that will not be completed until before the 2027 football season.
In a 2024 interview with StateCollege.com, Penn State athletic director Pat Kraft said, “Yeah, I’m open to everything,” when asked about the possibility of selling the naming rights to Beaver Stadium.
Penn State has not yet indicated who it has partnered with on the deal, nor the proposed name.

Penn State continues Beaver Stadium renovation work
The name of Beaver Stadium is not the only thing changing about the longtime home of Penn State football. Construction work continues on the aforementioned renovation after the press box was knocked down back in January.

“I feel really good about where we are,” Kraft told reporters during a February press conference. “We put out the renderings. We showed you kind of where we are in the process. Fundraising has been awesome. It shows that when Penn Stater’s get behind something. I feel really excited about that.”
Naming rights would be a new layer of fundraising, of course. And more money is likely to be raised for the project after more than $65 million has already come in to support its construction. That has taken shape with the sale of founder’s suites, as well as donor-named areas of the project.
“Really happy about where it’s going,” Kraft said in February. “I really believe it’s going to be something fans are going to be proud of. We’re trying to make it so it’s as loud as humanly possible and continue to keep this as the greatest home-field advantage in all of sports.
“I’m happy. I’m excited about where it’s going and the direction we’re headed with it.”
