Penn State caps Lindenwood series with sweep
The No. 19-ranked Penn State men’s hockey program cruised to a 7-1 victory over the Lindenwood Lions Saturday night to complete the sweep.
The Nittany Lions moved to 8-4-3 in the season.
Dominating the series
In the non-conference series, the Nittany Lions outscored Lindenwood, 16-4. They also outshot Lindenwood, 108-40, in the series.
The Nittany Lions were the better team heading into the series and were expected to win both games, but the performances the Nittany Lions had both Friday and Saturday night were far beyond expectations.
The Nittany Lions defense held Lindenwood to six total shots combined in the third period in both Friday and Saturday’s game. Though neither game went into the third a close game, it is still an impressive feat.
The “Kid Line” (again)
It feels as if every game the “Kid Line” does something that makes it important to write about them, and they did again Saturday night.
Aiden Fink had yet another three-point night, tallying two assists and a goal. He became the first Nittany Lion to reach 20 points this season after his second point of the night.
Just when it looked like Fink would be the only member of the “Kid Line” to find that score sheet Saturday night, Matt DiMarsico found the back of the net with just three seconds left on the clock.

Reese Laubach and Fink earned assists on the goal, making it a full “Kid Line” score.
Closer to full health
After catching the injury bug early in the season, the Nittany Lions are slowly getting closer to full health and are getting production from returning players.
Danny Dzhaniyev, who missed most of the Michigan State series due to injury, returned Friday night when he tallied two assists, and added two more points Saturday night, with an assist and a goal of his own.
Tyler Paquette, who made his season debut in the Michigan State series, scored Saturday night to make it three goals in six games for the senior forward.
What’s next for Penn State
The Nittany Lions will resume Big Ten play when they host the Minnesota Golden Gophers on December 1st at 7:00 p.m. from Pegula Ice Arena.
