Penn State tweets of the day

We start with a look back at Penn State’s massive recruiting weekend. The Nittany Lions landed top 100 defensive lineman Liam Andrews on Friday. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound four-star from Dexter, Mass., picked head coach James Franklin’s program over Wisconsin and South Carolina.

“The decision was very tough,” Andrews told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Each of my final three schools are great programs with great people. Near the end of my recruitment, it was very tight between Penn State and South Carolina. Penn State won out after I took a break from talking to coaches and did some real thinking.”

A day later, the Lions bolstered both their Class of 2024 and the future of their defensive line by adding Miami, Fla., four-star T.A. Cunningham.

“What I’d say set Penn State apart would just be the people,” Cunningham told BWI. “I’ve been getting recruited by Coach Franklin and their staff, Coach Kenny Sanders; I’ve been talking to these guys since pretty much my freshman year. They’ve been there from the jump, and they’ve stayed consistent with everything.

Penn State’s 24-member Class of 2024 now sits at No. 7 in the On3 Industry Team Rankings.

In other news, former Penn State quarterback Will Levis, who finished his college career at Kentucky, has signed his first NFL contract. The second-round pick of the Tennessee Titans inked a deal with the franchise on Saturday.

Quote of the day

“I’m just happy to be done with the process. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions and different things. I’m happy to have the relief of having it over. My path was a little less traditional than some others. You have juniors and seniors still receiving offers. Most of my offers came early from all the visits and camps that I went to early on. I’m pretty familiar with the process.

“It’s all been a blessing, but everything has to come to an end, and I’m just ready for the next chapter of my life, where I can just get down to business, get ready to work and just have a stable environment.”
