The Penn State Coaches Show returns tonight. We start today’s newsstand there. Head coach James Franklin will be on most weeks during the hourlong 6-7 p.m. show from roughly 6:34 until 6:54. He will be on set alongside host and program play-by-play man Steve Jones at The Field Burger & Tap on this Thursday night. A rotating cast of coaches and athletic department personnel will be on during the 6-6:30 p.m. slot each week. This week, Penn State athletic director Pat Kraft will be on. Fans can stream the program HERE.
In other news, Franklin spoke after practice on Wednesday night. Top takeaways include the fact that redshirt freshman Andrew Rappleyea and Luke Reynolds are set to have a role on Saturday in Morgantown, with Franklin saying he thinks fans will see the former “a ton” and the latter “a decent amount.” And, also at that position, the head coach thinks Tyler Warren is “the most complete tight end in the country.”
Other highlights included the head coach raving about receiver Omari Evans’ preseason camp as he aims for a bigger role in the offense and that Franklin feels good about the offense but, as he said on Monday, needs to see it and the rest of the team in action against an opponent to truly gauge where things stand.

Quote of the day
“I think Alonzo has been a guy that, after not seeing him for a year, we didn’t know what we were going to have and he’s been a real pleasant surprise, specifically against the run. He’s been really good. So, very impressive from that perspective.”
