The Penn State newsstand for April 28 is full of information related to the Nittany Lions

A key Board of Trustees committee is set to meet soon, which means a key hire should be finalized by the weekend. And, in other news, the Lions sent out numerous new recruiting offers on Wednesday. Finally, a former receiver has picked his transfer destination, and the NFL Draft starts tonight.

It’s time to dive into Thursday’s top tweets and headlines about Penn State and college football.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with the Penn State athletic director search.

The university’s subcommittee on Compensation will meet at 9 a.m. Friday. The agenda merely lists that the group will discuss a personnel matter.

It is expected that the topic at hand will be approving a contract for current Boston College athletic director Pat Kraft to take the same job with the Nittany Lions. He is expected to replace Sandy Barbour, who has announced her plans to retire this summer.

Also, in semi-recruiting related news, former Lions receiver Daniel George is off to Akron. He’ll transfer into the Zips program to play for former Penn State offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead, who now leads the Mid-American Conference school.

Finally, for this section, the NFL Draft starts tonight. However, only one Penn State product is expected to go off the board in round one: Receiver Jahan Dotson.

Stay tuned, however, because the selection process, which starts at 8 p.m. on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network, is always full of surprises.
