Penn State news, notes, and updates for June 4 include a new report on possible kick times, the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame ballot, and more.

It’s time to dive into Tuesday’s top tweets and stories about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with a new report about potential 2024 college football kick times from The Action Network’s Brett McMurphy. The longtime insider reports that Big Ten broadcast partner NBC’s “preferred primetime lineup” would include Illinois at Penn State on Sept. 28 and the Nittany Lions’ trip to Wisconsin on Oct. 26. It could mean that the Fighting Illini’s visit to Beaver Stadium will be the annual White Out game at the 107,000-seat soon-to-be-renovated venue. But, the program has not yet announced that. Both games will be on the 12/6-day window. It means a kick time could be announced as late as 12 or even six days before kickoff. Penn State will visit West Virginia at Noon on FOX to start the season. It will also face Bowling Green in that time slot a week later for the home opener.

In other news, the College Football Hall of Fame ballot for the Class of 2025 is now out. It includes former Penn State greats Ki-Jana Carter and D.J. Dozier plus other notable names in the sport. That group includes former Alabama coach Nick Saban, one-time Pitt defensive tackle Aaron Donald, and former Ohio State head coach and current FOX broadcaster Urban Meyer, among others. This year’s class will come out in early 2025.

Quote of the day

“We enjoyed the meeting we had with Coach Franklin. He really explained everything that’s good about Penn State for me, like sending people to the league and how much they care about academics. We really liked the academics part. They have great football, that’s obvious, but they really care about academics, too. We love that. We also went to a pool party at this mansion and I definitely enjoyed that. That house was amazing. We were able to have a great time with each other.”
