It’s time to dive into Tuesday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.
Penn State tweets of the day
We start with another transfer portal entry. Stroudsburg, Pa., redshirt sophomore cornerback Jace Tutty is looking for his next college football home. He did not play in either of his first two seasons in State College. In 2023, he played just three snaps on defense.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank Coach Franklin and the entire Penn State Football Staff for the opportunity and blessing to be apart of such an amazing program these past three years,” Tutty wrote on Twitter. “I will be forever grateful for the memories and brotherhood created at Penn State.
“Although this decision has been an extremely hard one, after discussing with my family, we have decided it is in my best interest to enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining. I am looking for defensive and special team opportunities (primarily safety, sam/nickel).”

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
Tutty was one of three Penn State players who ended up in the transfer portal on Monday, which, of course, was the first day it opened to undergraduate students. The other two were scholarship players. Both punter Alex Bacchetta and receiver Cristian Driver are looking for their next place to play at.
In other news, PSU extended a new preferred walk-on candidate on Monday. The Lions are now in the mix to potentially land Lakewood, Ohio cornerback Cam Boone. The first-team All-Ohio Division I pick and 6-foot-1, 160-pound Class of 2024 recruit has received the most interest from Eastern Michigan. He has also visited Ohio State and Michigan State. A decision timeline was not immediately clear.
