Penn State drops series opener to No. 7 Minnesota, 4-1
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The No. 18-ranked Penn State men’s hockey program dropped Game 1 against the No. 7-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers, 4-1, on Friday night. A 33-save performance from Golden Gopher netminder Justen Close had everything to do with it.
The Nittany Lions fell to 8-5-3 in the season and 1-3-3 in Big Ten play with the result.
