Penn State adds 2025 commitment from four-star RB Kiandrea Barker

Penn State has picked up another commitment in the Class of 2025, as running back Kiandrea Barker officially announced his decision Sunday afternoon. A native of Beebe, Ark., Barker picked up an offer from the Nittany Lions just over a year ago.
He’s only taken a handful of visits to schools throughout the South but also made it clear for weeks now that the Nittany Lions were a school high on his list. Once he arrived on campus Friday, it was only a matter of time until he announced his commitment.
“Penn State is a great college and they play the kind of football I like,” Barker told On3’s Sam Spiegelman. “My favorite running back is Saquon Barkley. That’s where he comes from and who I think my style of game is closely matched to. The year that Nick Singleton had this past season, I think Penn State is where home is and who can get me to the top level of football.”

Nittany Lion assistant coach Ja’Juan Seider led the way in this recruitment, with PSU being the second school to extend an offer. He totaled 11 offers overall, announcing a top five of Penn State, Florida State, Miami, Mississippi State and Ole Miss back on March 6.

“Penn State was one of my first big-time offers,” Barker said. “Growing up, I watched Saquan before he got drafted, so I knew that if Penn State ever offered they would be one of my top choices.”
Barker is now the third prospect to commit to Penn State’s Class of 2025. He joins four-star offensive tackle Jaelyne Matthews and cornerback prospect Omari Gaines. Both players reside in New Jersey.
He’s also the second player to commit to the Nittany Lions this weekend. Saturday evening, PSU added Wyomissing athlete Caleb Brewer to its Class of 2024.
