Penn State picks up another 2025 commitment in TE Brady O'Hara
Penn State continues to roll on the recruiting trail. Following the additions of linebacker DJ McClary and running back Tiqwai Hayes over the past two days, the Nittany Lions have now added another notable 2025 target in Pittsburgh athlete Brady O’Hara.
Listed at 6-foot-6, 240 pounds, O’Hara currently plays tight end at North Catholic but could potentially grow into an offensive tackle. A four-star prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, he’s visited Penn State six times just this year, including Saturday night’s White Out win over Iowa.
“Being here for the White Out game was an absolutely amazing experience,” O’Hara said Saturday night following the game. “The energy hits you as soon as you walk in, and it was so cool to walk out onto the field and feel the crowd. It was great to see many of the coaches tonight. They came up to me and gave me a hug or a handshake and it just feels like a family atmosphere. My favorite part of the night was being in the locker room talking to the other TEs and learning more about what it’s like to be an Ace.”

O’Hara earned six scholarship offers, with Pitt, West Virginia and Wisconsin being the other Power Five programs to make that move this past summer. He was primarily recruited by regional recruiter Terry Smith and tight ends coach Ty Howle.
“I really like Coach Howle. He understands the game very well, especially the footwork since he played line at Penn State,” O’Hara said back in the spring. “It’s only the second time I have met him, so we are still getting to know each other, but he is very relatable. Today we discussed the basic drills that the players do at practice. We also talked about getting me to a summer camp and a game next season.”

Growing up in Western Pennsylvania, O’Hara said previously that he doesn’t have any ties to the school but did grow up watching the Nittany Lions play.
“I don’t really have much connection to Penn State, but I have friends that were huge fans growing up so I would watch games with them,” O’Hara said.
O’Hara is ranked No. 305 nationally in the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s the 16th-ranked tight end in the 2025 class and the eighth-ranked player in Pennsylvania.
