Which of Penn State's Class of 2025 signees are planning to enroll in January following National Signing Day?
Penn State not only signed a talented class Wednesday but head coach James Franklin and his staff are set to start working with many of their incoming players relatively soon.
As BWI’s Sean Fitz reported over a month ago, this year’s group of players is expected to have 14 scholarship players arrive on campus in just over a month’s time. That’s down a bit from last year’s group, which featured 16 early enrollees, but it still represents about half of the class.
It’s also a nearly even split between the two sides of the ball, as Penn State plans to bring in eight players on offense and six on defense.
Offensively, quarterback Bekkem Kritza is expected to start taking classes next month. All four of Penn State’s current scholarship quarterbacks also enrolled early, so the Chaminade Madonna prospect is continuing a trend that the Nittany Lions have prioritized in recent years.
Three of the four wide receivers in the class are also enrolling early, including Virginia native Matthew Outten. Ranked No. 263 in the Industry Rankings, Outten is the top-ranked receiver in the class and was a priority target for the staff throughout his recruitment. He’ll be joined by New York native and On3 four-star prospect Lyrick Samuel, as well as Florida native Koby Howard. Howard recently had a cast removed from his broken hand after missing much of the season with an injury. The Nittany Lions will also bring in their most recent commit, tight end Brian Kortovich.

Offensive line coach Phil Trautwein will also get two of his commits on campus, adding interior offensive lineman Michael Troutman and offensive tackle Owen Aliciene. Aliciene is a four-star prospect and member of the On300 at No. 235 nationally. Troutman, who’s listed at 6-foot-2, 280 pounds, is expected to play center for the Nittany Lions.
On defense, Penn State will bring in at least one player at each position, with defensive tackle being the lone spot that should see two additions, as Miami native Randy Adirika and Maryland prospect Yvan Kemajou are both expected to enroll next month. Both players are coming off very strong seasons, as Adirika totaled 22 tackles for loss and six sacks playing against some of the best schools in South Florida.
Kemajou’s stock is also on the rise, as he recently earned a fourth star in On3’s Industry Rankings. He finished the season with 63 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and five sacks. But in addition to those two, position coach Deion Barnes is also expected to add defensive end Dayshaun Burnett.
Penn State’s final three expected additions are linebacker Alex Tatsch, cornerback Daryus Dixson and safety Braswell Thomas. Both Tatsch and Dixson rank among the top five prospects in the class. Dixson is currently ranked No. XXX nationally, while Tatsch is ranked No. XXX.
