Penn State DT Fatorma Mulbah enters NCAA transfer portal
Penn State defensive tackle Fatorma Mulbah is leaving the Lions, he announced on Thursday. The 6-foot-3, 296-pound has three years of eligibility remaining and is in the transfer portal as a graduate.
“As I reflect on my time at Penn State University, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the tremendous opportunity I have had to play football for Penn State,” Mulbah said in a statement. “I am thankful to God for guiding me on this journey, and I am forever indebted to Coach Franklin and the staff for giving me the opportunity.
“Penn State University has provided me with an experience that I will always cherish and hold dear to my heart. The relationships I have formed here, both on and off the field, are ones I know will last a lifetime. To Coach Scott and the rest of the coaching staff, thank you for being a part of my growth as an athlete. The past three years at Penn State have been truly transformative; I have had the privilege of forming meaningful relationships with a group of dedicated and passionate teammates who have supported and shaped me to become a better man.
“However, after many discussions with my family and coaches, I have decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal with three years of eligibility remaining.”
A Class of 2020 prospect for Penn State, Mulbah received a free year of eligibility as soon as he got on campus. He didn’t play at all that first season but did earn some playing time in 2021, participating in six games. Mulbah totaled four tackles that season, while also earning Academic All-Big Ten honors. He played a total of 63 snaps at defensive tackle and earned a grade of 59.5, according to Pro Football Focus.
Mulbah then played in 12 games for Penn State in 2022. However, the vast majority of his snaps were on special teams. His snaps at defensive tackle were slashed in half, playing just 31 snaps. His Pro Football Focus grade was a 62.9, And, he did not record a tackle this season.
A native of Harrisburg, Mulbah played three seasons for Susquehanna Twp. He totaled nine scholarship offers following his junior season. Penn State extended its offer following a strong workout at their camp in June 2019, an he went on to commit just a day later.

Penn State portal movement so far
It’s been a quiet start to the offseason for the Lions in terms of outgoing portal players. Mulbah is the first Lion to enter it since the 35-21 Rose Bowl win over Utah. Here’s the movement that took place between the regular season ending and now:
– Former backup but current third-string quarterback Christian Veilleux was the first Lion to announce his plans to enter the portal. He did so back on Nov. 29 and then officially entered it on Dec. 5. He committed to Pittsburgh on Dec. 18.
– Defensive end Rodney McGraw signaled his intention to do so on Dec. 4 and entered it on Dec. 5. He committed to Louisville on Dec. 18.
– Corner Jeffrey Davis Jr., did so on Dec. 5. He picked Stony Brook on Dec. 29.
– Defensive end Davon Townley Jr., entered on Dec. 7.
– Defensive tackle Fatorma Mulbah entered on Jan. 5.
