Penn State tweets of the day
We start with the first Penn State commitment by a high school player in 2023. The Lions made their second Class of 2024 pickup on Tuesday when Pittsburgh Central Catholic On3 Consensus four-star linebacker Anthony Speca picked the program. A frequent visitor to State College, he also considered Pittsburgh, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and others before making his final decision. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound junior is the first defender to pick head coach James Franklin’s program in the next recruiting cycle.
“I committed to Penn State because it feels like home,” Speca told BWI Tuesday morning. “It allows me to get everything I want, even outside of football. I believe in James Franklin and what the staff has built.
“I decided to commit this early because I knew in my heart it’s where I want to be, and I am blessed to be in the position I am. I’ve been a part of the process for three years now. I’ve seen a lot and been to a lot of great places, but Penn State is just special to me.

Quote of the day
“Just getting to really meet the staff more. That was big. got to meet the strength staff there and spend time with them. I also got a little extra time with Coach [Manny] Diaz. We were talking about their defense and how I fit, things like that. I felt like I picked up a lot of things from them.”
