STATE COLLEGE — Penn State football is holding its first open practice of 2023 preseason camp on Saturday night. The Nittany Lions will welcome fans to the Lasch outdoor practice fields for the free event that features drills, merchandise, and more. Blue-White Illustrated will have complete team coverage as the evening unfolds. And, if you can’t make it, you can follow along with the action here

“I think there’s value in playing in Beaver Stadium,” head coach James Franklin said Thursday night following a different media availability.

“I also think there’s value playing in front of a crowd to see how some of these young players are going to respond to that. And then I just think it creates some excitement in the town and in the city and in the state, so I think there’s a lot of positives to it.”

Practice begins at 7 p.m. ET. It is set to run for roughly two hours. Media members will have a limited opportunity to take photos and videos of practice. Fans are not permitted to do so at any point.
