Penn State will host Georgia offensive linemen in March
Penn State will host one of the top up-and-coming offensive line prospects in Georgia next month in Kingston native Bear McWhorter. A Class of 2026 prospect, McWhorter earned an offer from the Nittany Lions in Aug. 2022. Penn State was the first school to offer McWhorter.
“I really like Coach Traut,” Whorter said. “Because I am a freshman, he is not allowed to reach out to me over the phone, but every time I visit PSU, he is very welcoming and a great host. He also made the trip down to GA in January to [check up] on me. That meant a lot to me.”
After just one season of high school football, McWhorter is now up to nine total scholarship offers. The other eight schools are Arkansas, Florida State, Louisville, NC State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, UCF and Virginia Tech.
He’s also been incredibly active when it comes to visiting schools already. For Penn State, this will already be McWhorter’s third trip to Happy Valley. Since he was still in eighth grade at the time, McWhorter was able to attend a youth camp with the staff in May 2022. He then returned to Penn State at the end of November to take in his first experience at Beaver Stadium, watching the Nittany Lions defeat Michigan State that day.

“Beaver Stadium and the gameday environment is top-notch,” McWhorter said. “I’ve been blessed to have the opportunity to visit some of the best programs across the country and Penn State really stands out to me. Playing in front of 100,000 would be unreal.”
When it comes to other schools, McWhorter has been to every school that has offered already. He camped at many of them last summer, and has since attended a few unofficial visits, too. Just last month, he saw both Florida State and Michigan.
