Penn State football lands seven signees on PA's Big 33 Game roster
Seven future Penn State Nittany Lions landed on the Pennsylvania roster for this year’s Big 33 Football Classic.
Pennsylvania’s 38-man roster will take on a team from Maryland on Memorial Day at Bishop McDevitt High School. The game is scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m.
It’s unclear how many of the selected players will choose to take part in the game.
Here are the Nittany Lions who appear on the roster:
Mehki Flowers – Central Dauphin East
A four-star prospect and the No. 184 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, the On3 Consensus ranked Mehki Flowers as the No. 5 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania.
Flowers is listed as an athlete by On3, having played on both sides of the ball in high school. He will start his Penn State career as a defensive back. Fellow signee Cristian Driver falls in a similar category.
“I think you can make arguments both ways, and we’ve had conversations with both of them about that,” Penn State coach James Franklin said. “There’s still flexibility there that exists. You never know what the future holds.
“We want as many defensive backs with ball skills and length as we possibly can find and I think these two guys fit those characteristics perfectly,” Franklin said.

Drew Shelton – Downingtown West
Drew Shelton returned to play for Downingtown West this season after spending some time at IMG Academy in Florida.
The On3 Consensus ranks him as the No. 130 overall prospect in the cycle, the No. 10 offensive tackle and the No. 3 recruit in the state.
