Penn State tweets of the day
Let’s get today’s newsstand started with a little recruiting.
Class of 2023 corner Daniel Harris included Penn State in a top-10 list released on Friday morning.
Harris, coming in at 6-foot-2, 160 pounds, is a four-star prospect according to On3 analysts. On3 ranks him as the No. 48 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 6 corner.
He plays his high school football for Gulliver Prep in Miami, Florida. He’s taken two unofficial visits to Georgia and has also made the trip to Rutgers and Ohio State. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Bulldogs as the favorite to land his services.
Staying on the recruiting trail, Penn State’s staff also issued two scholarship offers on Thursday.
One went to Ashton Funk. Out of Katy, Texas, Funk is a four-star offensive tackle in the Class of 2024, according to the On3 Consensus. He’s listed at 6-foot-6, 275 pounds.
The other offer went to 2023 RB Zakkari Black from California. Penn State was the first Power Five program to offer Black, who plays at Charter Oak High School in Covina.

Quotes of the day
“I really liked listening to Coach [Phil] Trautwein and how he teaches the offensive line and their technique. All the players had great energy and it was a competitive day. The energy and how they attacked the day alone stood out to me and was my main takeaway from the visit.” — Class of 2024 OL Kyle Altuner on his Penn State visit
“I’m trying to be a resource for both of them because at the end of the day we’re going to need both of those guys. It’s great seeing those guys develop and grow.” — PSU LB Curtis Jacobs on MLBs Kobe King and Tyler Elsdon
