Winslow Twp. CB Cameron Miller includes Penn State among Top 8 schools
Penn State is one of eight schools still in the mix with New Jersey cornerback Cameron Miller.
A three-star prospect from Winslow Twp., Miller picked up his first offer from the Nittany Lions before he played a down of high school football in Aug. 2021. Now entering his junior season, he’s up to 20 scholarship offers overall.
In addition to the Nittany Lions, Miller included Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Rutgers, Syracuse, West Virginia and Wisconsin among his top schools. Of those schools, Miller has been to Penn State by far the most, totaling six visits since the summer of 2021.
Georgia and Michigan also hosted Miller for one visit each this spring. Following his trip to Ann Arbor, Miller said that he’s being recruited to play wide receiver by the Wolverines. Most schools, including Penn State, like him on defense.
“I don’t have a preference,” Miller said. “Wherever I best fit is where I’ll play — whether that’s defensive back or wide receiver. I just want to play ball.”

As for what he likes about Michigan, Miller said. “Coach [Ron] Bellamy is a great guy. He’s very upfront. He gets his guys right every single day. He bonded with his guys at the meeting. Everyone was locked in and ready to learn from him. Coach [Grant] Newsome is a really cool guy, too. He’s extremely tall (laughs). I connected with him as well.”

But it’s Penn State who has not only hosted him the most but also most recently, as Miller was just on campus last weekend for the Lasch Bash Barbecue.
“My relationship with Coach [Terry] Smith is great,” Miller said following last weekend’s visit. “He’s a very upfront dude that loves the game of football. What makes him unique is that he uses all of his guys. Some coaches may have a select few, but with Coach Smith, he gets everyone playing time if you’re ready.”
In addition to all the visits, Miller also has ties to Penn State via his high school staff, as Winslow Twp. is led by former Nittany Lion running back Bill Belton. After taking over his alma mater last July, Belton hired former Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg to be his offensive coordinator.
So far, Penn State holds three commitments in the Class of 2025. Two of those players, offensive tackle Jaelyne Matthews and safety Omari Gaines, also reside in New Jersey. The other is running back Kiandrea Barker from Arkansas.
