Happy Tuesday, Penn State fans. Following Labor Day weekend, it’s business as usual for James Franklin and his staff, as they’ll resume practice after having Monday off. Franklin will also meet with the media later this afternoon to recap the win over West Virginia and look ahead to Saturday’s game against Delaware.

In today’s newsstand, we look ahead to way too early bowl projections and much more.

Tweets of the Day

Sure, it’s way too early to start planning for Penn State’s bowl game, but hey, it’s fun to speculate. Following week one of the college football season, CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm released his updated projections Monday morning.

In his preseason projections., Palm had Penn State headed to the Cotton Bowl to take on Kansas State in a battle of two at-large programs. Now, after seeing them beat West Virginia, Palm has updated his projection to Penn State facing Florida State in the Orange Bowl. Of course, that would be a rematch of a classic back in 2006 when the Nittany Lions beat the Seminoles 26-23 in three overtimes.

In other news, Penn State was named one of Week 1’s winners by Yahoo! Sports.

“Entering the season, the biggest questions surrounding Penn State and its ceiling were new starting quarterback Drew Allar and his group of receivers. In the opener versus West Virginia, both looked pretty good. In a 38-15 win at Beaver Stadium, Allar threw for 325 yards and three touchdowns, including a 72-yarder to Keandre Lambert-Smith on his second pass attempt of the night. Lambert-Smith led the way with four catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns, but Harrison Wallace and Malik McClain also impressed. Wallace led PSU with seven catches for 72 yards while McClain, a Florida State transfer, had four catches for 58 yards and a touchdown. That’s a good start for the Nittany Lions.”

Quote of the Day

“I’ve talked to Coach Dex about being a top priority for him and Penn State. They are throwing it on me heavily about me being a top prospect for them. They always show me mad love and make it known they want me there each time. He also says I’m going to have to work for everything, but that’s what I like. I want to earn everything and take advantage of every opportunity I get. It’s just lots of love at Penn State.
