Penn State head coach James Franklin and his team are headed to Miami, Fla., to take on Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl next week in a semifinal game for the College Football Playoffs. Following the win over SMU at Beaver Stadium, the Nittany Lions came into Tuesday night’s Fiesta Bowl expected to beat Mountain West champion Boise State, and that’s exactly what they did, winning 31-14.

Although they did allow the Broncos to throw for more than 300 yards, Penn State came into the game knowing they had to shut down running back Ashton Jeanty and that’s exactly what they did, holding him to 104 yards on 30 carries. PSU’s running backs Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton also showed why they’re among the best tandems in the nation, rushing for 221 yards combined and a touchdown.

Fans can check out the best images of the event from BWI photographer Steve Manuel below.
