Penn State one of four schools still in the mix with CB Kenny Woseley Jr.
Penn State already holds two commitments from Pennsylvania prospects in its Class of 2024. If all goes to plan, that number will grow to three in the coming weeks with the addition of cornerback Kenny Woseley Jr.
A native of Philadelphia, Woseley announced Friday evening that he’s down to four schools. In addition to Penn State, Michigan, Nebraska and Rutgers are the other three schools still in the mix. From a visit perspective, the Nittany Lions hold a major edge, as Woseley has visited campus five times since the summer of 2021. That includes Penn State’s most recent junior day, which took place Jan. 28.
“The new weight room definitely stood out,” Woseley said. “They added a new part to the Lasch Building, and not only is there a new weight room but there’s a nutrition center as well. It’s right next to the weight room. They expanded it way more compared to what it was the last time I had seen it. The last time I was up there, it was actually under construction. Just seeing it and how it came to life, it was really different. It was really nice.”
Woseley added that he also enjoyed a one-on-one discussion with Penn State head coach James Franklin before heading home.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
“I also got to sit with him after the junior day. He was basically just asking me simple questions about how I felt about the program and the pros and cons about the day. I told him that the pros of the day were seeing the new weight room, which I thought was great, and meeting with the strength and conditioning coaches. I actually got to meet with my position strength and condition coach, too. That was definitely a good thing. I asked him a few questions then, too. There weren’t any cons at all with me. Everything was on good display and I really liked it.”
Of his other three schools, Rutgers is the only program Woseley has visited so far. Like Penn State, the Scarlet Knights also hosted him for a visit in January. However, On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine leans heavily towards the Nittany Lions, giving PSU a 93.8 percent chance of landing Woseley’s commitment. That includes a prediction from myself back on Feb. 1.
Currently, Woseley holds a three-star rating by both On3 and in the On3 Consensus rankings. On3 gave him an 88 rating, which puts him just outside of four-star status. He’s even closer in the On3 Consensus with a grade of 89.07. Nationally, the Consensus has Woseley at No. 381 overall. He’s the 38th-ranked cornerback and No. 10 in the state.
