Penn State weekly offers roundup: April 5-11
Penn State Nittany Lions football issued 13 scholarship offers this week.
Seven of those offers went to offensive linemen, while the Nittany Lions also reached out to a pair of intriguing 2023 athletes and a highly touted 2025 quarterback.
Let’s dive into the full roundup.
The Nittany Lions extended an offer to Oluwatosin Babalade out of DeMatha Catholic in Maryland this week. Babalade is a 6-foot-4, 285-pound three-star prospect who holds offers from Maryland, UNC, Miami and Boston College, among others. He has visited each of those four schools, as well as Pitt.
The second 2023 prospect offered by the Nittany Lions this week is 6-foot, 175-pound athlete Creed Whittemore. Whittemore plays for FW Buchholz in Gainesville, Florida, and holds an offer from the Gators. Thus, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine makes him a heavy Florida lean. He has also visited Clemson and Florida State, who have not offered him just yet.
The Nittany Lions offered an intriguing, under-the-radar prospect in 2023 athlete Zakkarii Black. Black plays running back, wideout and corner for Charter Oak High School in Covina, California. His previous other two offers are from Morgan State and Grambling State.
Penn State’s 2024 offers this week
Penn State extended a scholarship offer to 6-foot-1, 186-pound safety Cam Richardson out of St. Peters Prep in Jersey City this week. His other four offers are from UMass, Boston College, Maryland and Akron, to this point.
Penn State offered another Class of 2024 defensive back this week in Virginia CB Noah Jenkins, who visited campus this week. Unranked for now, Jenkins plays his high school football at Highland Springs and has also received offers from West Virginia, Duke and Virginia Tech.
The top-rated 2024 prospect offered by Penn State this week is offensive tackle Brandon Baker. Baker, out of Mater Dei in California, is the No. 85 overall prospect in the cycle according to On3 — and the No. 7 tackle. He has taken three visits to USC, and has also made the trip to Oregon and UNLV. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine makes the Trojans the favorites to land his commitment.
Out of Katy, Texas, 6-foot-6, 275-pound offensive tackle Ashton Funk received an offer from the Nittany Lions this week. The On3 Consensus ranks him as the No. 263 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle and the No. 20 offensive tackle. He’s taken four unofficial visits to Texas A&M so far, along with a pair of trips to Houston and one visit to Texas.
