Penn State football put together one of its strongest classes under head coach James Franklin this year. Although the class won’t be completely finished until February, the Nittany Lions signed 24 players back on Dec. 15. It ranks seventh nationally according to the On3 Consensus, and while it may drop a little bit, it should end up being a top 10 class.

Of course, the majority of the 2022 class was restricted in regards to visits, but once that changed in June, the summer was one of the wildest we’ve seen. After more than 120 prospects took either unofficial or official visits to State College, Penn State saw 11 prospects verbally commit in July. That’s when it became clear that the Nittany Lions were on pace for something on special.

On today’s episode of the Blue White Illustrated recruiting podcast, Ryan Snyder and Greg Pickel look back on some of the key moments and players that grabbed headlines over the past year. From the most important commitment to the biggest misses in the class, Pickel and Snyder recap it all, including what it was like in June and July trying to follow all the latest news.
