Penn State Podcast: Junior Day discussion, Transfer Portal talk and more
Penn State is set for one final week on the road before the January contact period comes to a close.
This week, members of the staff have already crisscrossed the country to meet with prospects. Assistant coach Phil Trautwein is the latest to do so, making his way to Washington to meet with Vega Ioane. The rest of the Penn State coaching staff is also spread across the country, meeting with prospects before it all comes to an end next week.
In today’s episode of the Blue White Illustrated recruiting podcast, Ryan Snyder and Greg Pickel get into a variety of topics, including Ioane and potential additions in the transfer portal. Penn State just hosted Cornell offensive lineman Hunter Nourzad this past weekend for an official visit. We discuss where he stands and what’s next.

The majority of the conversation is centered around junior days, however, with Penn State hosting 30-plus players this past Saturday, Jan. 22 and another solid group of players making the trip this upcoming weekend. Ryan and Greg discuss a handful of the most interesting players that were on campus this past weekend, as well as a stacked list of upcoming visitors for Jan. 29.
That list should include Washington, D.C., native and five-star defensive end Nyckoles Harbor, who just put up one of the best 200-meter times ever by a high school athlete, running it 20.79 seconds. Harbor gave an update on his recruitment Tuesday with On3’s Billy Embody, and had positive things to say about the Nittany Lions.
