Penn State has no shortage of top targets that made On3’s Top 100 watch list for the Class of 2027 on Monday. That includes the staff’s lone commit in the class, as running back Kemon Spell was named the nation’s No. 1 running back in On3’s rankings, coming in at No. 7 nationally.

A native of McKeesport, Pa., Spell committed to Penn State back on Aug. 2 after a very strong workout at the staff’s Whiteout Camp a week prior. It was one of just two visits he took to State College before deciding. Other notable programs that offered include Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, Pitt and West Virginia.

But Spell is far from the only notable name that fans need to know. New Jersey athlete Xavier Sabb (No. 9), quarterback Brady Edmunds (No. 16) and offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller (No. 23) all earned spots in the top 30. Sabb, who plays at Glassboro, has visited Penn State four times already. Both Edmunds and Hiller made it to campus over the summer. Hiller, who plays at Coatesville and already stands at 6-foot-5, 295 pounds, will start out as the second-ranked prospect in Pennsylvania. He’s also visited Penn State five times since April.

Further down you’ll find a handful of other notable names who have visited already. Saf. Gabriel Jenkins from Imani Christian in Pittsburgh is slotted at No. 54 nationally, while Delaware native Layton Von Brandt is just behind him at No. 65. Just like Hiller, Von Brandt camped with the staff this summer and visited multiple times, most recently for the Lasch Bash in July. He also plays with 2026 commit Jahsiear Rogers at Appoquinimink.

The list also features three other players that Penn State is bullish on, including quarterback Peter Bourque from Tabor Academy in New England. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound signal-caller camped at Penn State twice this summer, leaving with an offer in July. He’s ranked No. 87 nationally, just in front of two other key targets: tight end Colt Lumpris (No. 88) and cornerback Larry Moon III (No. 91).

At 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, Lumpris is expected to grow into a tight end at the next level but is listed as an athlete currently. He earned an offer from Penn State in June after camping with the staff. Moon has held an offer from the Nittany Lions for over a year now and may be one of the more underrated players on this list at first glance. The Aliquippa prospect already holds more than two dozen offers.
