Penn State fans, it’s that time of the year!

No, I’m not talking about bowl games, but rather high school all-star games, when fans get an up-close look at their school’s incoming players. The all-star game schedule begins this week with the Under Armour All-America Game in Florida. The game is set for Sunday, Jan. 2, at 2 p.m on ESPN. Players will start arriving tomorrow, with practice set to begin Wednesday.

Next week we’ll see a host of Penn State players travel to San Antonio for the All-American Bowl, with the game set for Jan. 8 on NBC. Blue White Illustrated’s Ryan Snyder is set to travel to San Antonio with four players set to participate, including QB Drew Allar, RB Nick Singleton, DE Dani Dennis-Sutton and LB Keon Wylie.

The all-star game schedule concludes then Jan. 22 with the Polynesian Bowl in Hawaii. For now though, let’s focus on the Under Armour game, who all is set to play and what the schedule looks like.

Penn State Players

Penn State will have three future players participating in the Under Armour Game, which takes place at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. Those players are OL Drew Shelton, RB Kaytron Allen and WR Kaden Saunders.

Of this group, Saunders is the one I’m most interested in following this week. Both Allen and Shelton feel as if they’re ranked correctly both nationally and positionally, but Saunders, who’s ranked No. 34 at wide receiver and No. 232 nationally, is the one that’s substantially lower at On3 compared to other services.

The wide receiver position is absolutely stacked this year, but the last few times Saunders competed against the nation’s best in a camp setting, he walked about with multiple MVP awards. Our scouts will be in Orlando this weekend, and I expect them to watch Saunders closely.
