Penn State and every DIvision I may have much of their focus on the Class of 2024 currently, but the 2025 cycle is already well underway. According to On3’s offers page, head coach James Franklin and his staff have already surpassed 200 offers for next year’s class and showing no signs of slowing down.

Looking throughout the region, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland are all fairly even when it comes to quality prospects. Maryland leads the way with nine players in the On300, while both Pennsylvania and New Jersey each have eight players who made the cut. Penn State’s other key state, Virginia, currently has seven On300 prospects.

Looking at the top 100 you’ll find Penn State’s lone committed player in the class, offensive tackle Jaelyne Matthews. Matthews was originally one of only 100 players nationally to earn an early four-star rating, so it’s no surprise that he ranks where he does. Quarterbacks Bryce Underwood and Cutter Boley also rank highly.

Underwood is the No. 1 recruit in the nation, while Boley ranks 30th. Both players have been on campus before. WR Jaime Ffrench just visited Penn State last weekend. He’s on pace to be a five-star, ranking 15th overall. You’ll also find Wisconsin OL Owen Strebig among that group at No. 47. He, too, was just on campus last weekend.

101 to 200 also features many players that fans should be familiar with by now, including two notable running backs in Iverson Howard and Bo Jackson. Jackson just visited this past weekend, while Howard was on campus in January. Saf. Faheem Delane, DE Jeff Exinor and QB Malik Washington are all among the best players in Maryland. It’s early, but Washington feels like Penn State’s most realistic quarterback target for 2024.

Finally, the bottom third is also deep with kids from throughout the region. Saf. Anthony Sacca, RB Bud Coombs and CB Cameron Miller all have ties to Penn State. Sacca’s father played for the school, while Coombs’ sister currently plays softball for the Nittany Lions. Miller doesn’t have family ties, but he’s coached by former Nittany Lion RB Bill Belton.

Nittany Lion fans can check out the complete list of confirmed prospects below.
