The Nittany Lions have landed a pair of commitments since the start of April. They didn’t pick up a new one on Monday, of course, but they did send out numerous new offers.

Today’s newsstand covers those, a snippet from the team’s return to the practice field, and more.

It’s time to dive into the top tweets and headlines about Penn State and college athletics on April 12.

Herring is arguably the top Lions target left along the offensive line.

Finally, for this section, we have a look at Penn State returning to the practice field.

Second-year corner Kalen King was in the spotlight of an in-house social media video on Monday. It shows off the defender’s fast feet, which were often evident on game day last year. After playing a sizable role as a freshman, King now hopes to win a starting job at the college level for the first time.

Quote of the day

“Everyone likes to talk about the coordinator. We have a phenomenal defensive staff here. The on-the-field coaches, our analysts off the field; one thing that Coach Franklin’s allowed us to do is, we’ve got a great off-the-field staff now,” Diaz said.

“Which, you’re seeing more and more of in college football, even down to our [graduate assistants]. It makes it really easy. Because again, it’s not about one guy. It’s about a staff, and to me, we’ve got a good team in that room.”
