Penn State football sets 2025 prospect camp schedule

Penn State head coach James Franklin and his recruiting staff have been working hard in recent weeks to put together their official visit schedule with top prospects for the month of June. However, that’s not the only schedule they’ve been putting together for this upcoming summer.
On Wednesday, Blue White Illustrated confirmed Penn State’s 2025 schedule for prospect camps in the month of June. As has often been the case, the first Elite Showcase camp of the summer is scheduled for the first Sunday of the month, which this year is June 1.
The following weekend will also look similar to what we’ve seen in the past. That Friday, June 6, will be the first Lion Strong 7-on-7 & Big Man Challenge that Penn State’s staff will host this summer. They’ll then focus on their expected official visitors throughout the weekend before hosting Elite Showcase II on Sunday afternoon, June 8.
Last year, Penn State increased the number of 7-on-7 & Big Man Challenges that they host from two to three. That’s once again the plan in 2025. All of them will take place on Fridays, with the second and third tournaments scheduled for June 13 and 20.
With Father’s Day set for June 15 this year, Penn State has elected not to host a camp that day. Instead, they’ll host a midweek camp a few days later on Wednesday, June 18. The staff plans to host two separate camps that day, as they’ll also host their Specialist Showcase in addition to Elite Showcase III.
Nittany Lions fans can check out the confirmed schedule below.

What else should fans be looking for?
For those who have followed recruiting closely over the years, you likely know by now that the NCAA has allowed schools up to 10 evaluation days in June or July throughout the years. That includes both on-campus and events elsewhere. For example, multiple Penn State coaches have traveled to Detroit in recent years to attend Wayne State’s National College Showcase.
Schools are still allowed to host or attend 10 camps this upcoming summer, but this year’s recruiting calendar will be the first time that all of July is now considered a dead period. Previously, schools were allowed to host camps and prospects for visits for about a week in late July. Last year, that’s when Penn State elected to host both its Whiteout Camp and the Lasch Bash Barbecue.
So far, the staff has only announced its plans for six of those evaluation days, meaning they could still host and/or attend up to four more camps. Balancing and planning all of this while also knowing they have to be on campus every weekend for official visitors will likely make it difficult for the Nittany Lions to maximize all 10 of those days.
Time will tell if any coaches plan to camps elsewhere, but we are curious to learn more about whether Penn State still plans to host its annual Whiteout Camp. It’s also unclear if they plan to squeeze in their annual Lasch Bash Barbecue at some point before the dead period begins on June 23.
