Penn State has 15 official visitors on campus for the weekend, and the Nittany Lions got started with a bang on Friday evening when Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances cornerback Amauri Polydor announced his commitment to Penn State. The three-star prospect has had the Nittany Lions at the forefront of his recruitment since offering back in February.

“This offer means a lot to me, especially because they aren’t that far from home,” he said this winter. “This is a school I’ve liked since I was young. This is one of my pops’ favorite colleges. Just off that alone, this offer is really important to me and I look forward to keep building a great bond with the coaching staff.”

Indiana, Maryland, Michigan State, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech all offered, and they made up his top six, along with Penn State, back in March. Polydor visited Michigan State in April and had previously scheduled an official visit to East Lansing for the weekend of June 13.

Polydor is ranked No. 91 nationally at cornerback and is the 22nd-ranked prospect in Maryland for the Class of 2026. On3 rates him significantly higher with an 88 overall rating. He’s currently No. 47 at corner nationally and the eighth-ranked prospect in Maryland in the cycle.

Penn State now holds commitments from three cornerbacks, with Polydor joining Jaziel Hart out of Virginia and Julian Peterson of New Jersey. The Nittany Lions are now up to 19 commitments in the Class of 2026.

Penn State gets into St. Frances

James Franklin has not signed a player out of St. Frances Academy, but held a commitment from former Falcon and current Colorado offensive lineman Andre Roye for spell in the Class of 2022. Polydor was an offseason addition for St. Frances after spending his junior year at Mt. Zion Prep in Lanham, Md. He transferred there ahead of the 2024 season when National Christian Academy’s athletic program shuttered following his sophomore season.

Polydor was the defensive back MVP at the Under Armour Camp stop in Charlotte last year. He finished the 2024 season with 40 tackles, nine interceptions and seven breakups for Mt. Zion. He had three picks as a sophomore.
