Penn State vs. Wisconsin preview

The Nittany Lions enter the game as the third-ranked team in the country and coming off a bye. Wisconsin is unranked, but playing well, winning its last three games. Penn State head coach James Franklin spoke about the change in backup quarterback Braeden Lock since starter Tyler Van Dyke’s injury early in the season.

“I think initially, obviously you lose your starting quarterback, it’s a tough situation, but I think as the weeks have gone on, he’s gotten more and more confident doing some really nice things and making some nice plays. I do think they’re doing a good job, too, of really relying in the run game, and then mixing the pass in, probably more so than what they were doing before, and I think it really started to create an identity around them. But I think as each week goes on, he’s playing better and better. And obviously the most important stat for a quarterback is wins, and he’s done a nice job with that the last three weeks.”

We’ll break down how Wisconsin operates, how things have chanced since last year when new head coach Luke Fickell took over and changed the program, and how the two teams match up.

Offense back to full speed?

Despite having a stable of quality players who have shined individually, the Penn State offense hasn’t put a complete effort together yet this year. We’ll discuss the reasons for that on today’s show. We’ll discuss how tonight’s matchup against Wisconsin might be the chance for the running game and passing elements of the offense to work together well.

Finally, we’ll end the show with a look at the other Big Ten games this weekend and give our score predictions for the game. Join us live in the chat or in-person to be part of the show!
