Penn State makes top five for Virginia safety Noah Jenkins
Following wide receiver Keylen Adams’ top four announcement earlier today, Penn State finds itself in the mix with another top prospect from Virginia. On Monday afternoon, three-star safety Noah Jenkins from Highland Springs dropped his list of down to five schools. In addition to Penn State, he included Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.
Over the past year, Jenkins earned 17 scholarship offers. He also took full advantage of visit opportunities in January, attending three junior days. Penn State was the first school he visited last month, making the trip on Jan. 14.
“I liked every part of today,” Jenkins said following the visit. “The things that stood out to me were things like Coach [James] Franklin explaining how he doesn’t lead us on and show us one side of him when he’s recruiting, but as soon as we get there he acts completely different. He seems like a great coach to be around and have educationally, to learn life lessons and lastly, on the field.
“Also, I like going on a campus and feeling loved. I don’t really like being somewhere where I feel like it’s not real love. I feel like Penn State shows genuine love to me every single time we encounter. Lastly, the way they explained everything about, like how they will help us get a great education and make sure that we graduate with great grades and not just leave college and not get a degree.”

After visiting Penn State, Jenkins took two more trips to see South Carolina (Jan. 21) and Virginia Tech (Jan. 28). Those trips were Jenkins’ second visit to each school. In comparison, Penn State has hosted him four times total to this point. After attending a spring practice in April, he returned for the Lasch Bash Barbecue in July, plus the White Out game in October.
According to the On3 Consensus, Jenkins holds an 87 overall grade, making him a three-star prospect. He’s ranked No. 527 nationally and No. 14 in Virginia for his class.
