We start with a part of the Peach Bowl that will take place before kickoff between the Lions and Ole Miss in Atlanta on Saturday. Penn State great Kerry Collins, who is currently an assistant coach at Franklin High School in Tennessee, will serve as the PSU honorary captain. The Rebels will be represented in that capacity by former wide receiver Donte Moncrief. They will be joined on the Mercedes-Benz turf for the coin toss by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta patients Chance Meadows and Colton Hall.

In other news, Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin was asked to assess Penn State quarterback Drew Allar during his Tuesday news conference.

“He’s hard to beat,” Kiffin said. “Takes care of the ball really well. Really good mixture of being able to throw the ball and then get out of trouble and make a play and make a first down with his feet.

Quote of the day

“You can leave, you can stay. You can go other places. Coaches can call you. And our season is still going. It would be like before the NFC or AFC playoffs start in a couple weeks, all of a sudden, ‘Hey, free agency the week before opens, so you can start recruiting other people’s players and fly them on trips and get them to transfer. So really, a really bad system.”
