We start with Penn State great LaVar Arrington. He was officially inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday night at the 64th NFF Annual Awards Dinner in Las Vegas, Nev.

“I love the game, and everything that was associated with it: My teammates, coaches, fans, my school, I don’t know if you’ll find anyone who loves their school more than I do,” Arrington told GoPSUSports. “I hope people remember me for my love, not just of the game, but of the entire Penn State community.”

Among his many accomplishments, Arrington was a two-time first-team All-American at Penn State and the Butkus Award winner in 1999.

In other news, former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley is up for the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year award. Each of the 32 teams nominates one player for the honor that goes to someone who makes a major impact on and off the field. Barkley is the New York Giants’ nominee this year.

Finally, for this section, Penn State sent out a new transfer portal offer on Tuesday. It went to former Arizona wide receiver Dorian Singer. A former walk-on, Singer totaled 66 receptions for 1,105 yards and six touchdowns this past season.

Quote of the day

“I’ve gone to some of these places. I’ve been in some of these buzzsaws. I can’t look ahead, but where we’re gonna go Saturday, Illinois is gonna be sold out. It’s gonna be like an absolute nightmare to play in.

“People shouldn’t come here and it is a break. They shouldn’t come here and be like, ‘Man, this is great. I’m glad we’re going to Penn State, because it’s not the same atmosphere, it’s not the same environment.’ Make it as loud and as rowdy as possible.”
