Penn State tweets of the day
We start with a new mock draft. Pro Football Focus released its latest installment on Monday now that September is over. Three Penn State players are projected to go within the first 32 picks next spring. The first off the board is offensive tackle Olu Fasahnu, who PFF sees as a top 10 pick.
“All signs point to 2024 being the Jets’ “all-in” season with Aaron Rodgers coming back from injury,” Trevor Sikkema writes. “They’ll need to bolster their offensive line, in that case, and Fashanu is the man for the job. He could have been a top-10 pick if he had declared last year. The Penn State tackle is following up an impressive 84.7 pass-blocking grade in 2022 with an even better 92.9 pass-blocking grade in 2023.”
Defensive end Chop Robinson is projected to go No. 12 to New Orleans.
“The Saints have a decently talented roster, but it is aging, especially on defense,” Sikkema writes. “Penn State edge rusher Chop Robinson is one of the most twitched-up athletes in the 2024 draft class, and that fits the mold of what New Orleans has prioritized over the years — unique athletes, especially in the trenches. It has taken him a bit to get warmed up this season, but Robinson earned a 92.1 pass-rush grade against Iowa in Week 3 with a 46.7% pass-rush win rate.”

Last but not least, cornerback Kalen King is sent to the Colts at No. 20.
“The Colts could use some youthfulness in their secondary,” Sikkema writes. “King posted an impressive 90.6 coverage grade in 2022 and an even more impressive 91.7 coverage grade in single coverage.”

Quote of the day
“It was definitely the best game experience I’ve had so far. It’s a long flight out there, but I was really happy I was able to make it. From the moment we got there, they had everything taken care of for us. After we rode the bus over to the stadium then we were able to walk out the tunnel for pregame. I got instant goosebumps walking out onto the field there. It was wild.
