Penn State turns the page to Purdue
With a 1-8 team on the schedule, the focus this week turned to the future of the Penn State roster in the final three weeks. Franklin discussed Purdue’s strengths and top players to begin the press conference, but questions quickly turned to how the team planned to manage the roster to end the year. Penn State is favored in all of it’s final game.
When asked how his team has managed snap counts for his starters, Franklin said that it’s been good because they’ve been strategic. But the era of third-quarter blowouts with extended playing time for teams is over.

“This is not your grandfather’s Big 10. This is not your father’s Big 10, and same, same with the SEC. So you’re not going to have these lopsided games that you’ve had in the past, it’s going to be more like the NFL, where a lot of these games are one possession games,” Franklin said.
