Watch Penn State head coach James Franklin's Tuesday press conference
Penn State head coach James Franklin was back at the podium Tuesday to discuss a variety of topics ahead of Saturday’s penultimate home game against the Maryland Terrapins. Following Saturday’s dominating win over Indiana, the Nittany Lions play two of their three remaining games at home. Wins in all three would all but ensure that the Lions make a New Year’s Six Bowl for the first time since 2019.
However, the biggest news coming out of today’s press conference was a negative, as Franklin announced that left guard Landon Tengwall won’t be returning this season following surgery.

“Landon seems like he’s been apart of our program forever,” Franklin said. “He’s been productive, he’s started and played well at guard for us to win. He’s started and played well at tackle for us to win. I think he has a very, very bright future.
“You hate these setbacks and disappointments. It is part of the game. Landon’s attitude has been phenomenal, and the team’s attitude about next man up has been phenomenal.”
