Penn State head coach James Franklin previews USC in Monday Press Conference
Penn State Nittany Lions football head coach James Franklin kicked off the long-awaited USC game week on Monday. The Nittany Lions make the trip to Southern California on Saturday to face a wounded Trojans team that dropped out of the top 25 this week after a loss to Minnesota. Penn State vs. UCLA preview
Despite the 3-2 record with losses to Michigan and Minnesota, Franklin knows that the Trojans and head coach Lincoln Riley are dangerous. He discussed the matchup on Monday with reporters.
However, the impending showdown lost some of its luster. Penn State kept up it’s end of the bargain, entering the game undefeated and in the top five nationally in both the coach’s and AP Polls. With two losses in conference play, USC dropped out of the top 25 on Sunday.
Penn State now faces the challenge of traveling to the West Coast for a 3:30 kickoff against a team that won’t provide the same resume boost they might have previously given the team.
