Penn State practice update

The 2025 Spring transfer portal window opens on Wednesday, right in the middle of camp for the football team. Many of the questions on Tuesday night dealt with the realities of the situation and what that conflict means for his team.

He talked about being upfront with his players and having direct conversations about the situation at hand.

“It’s really kind of a “no surprises” discussion. And what I mean by that, if the players have any issues or concerns, we want them to come in and talk to us. We’ve talked already to the team about how we’re handling the 105. That was addressed before the first window. That was addressed before this window. So everybody is on the same page. I meet with the players a lot, and there needs to be a communication, two-way street. So right now, we’re not having meetings obviously during spring ball, but there needs to be communication.”

Spring football calendar heating up

The NCAA Transfer Portal opens on April 15, one day after the team’s Tuesday night practice. Penn State Guard JB Nelson already made the decision to jump into the portal last weekend. The move was official on Monday. Follow along at Blue White Illustrated for the latest news and information about which other players may make that decision and if the team brings in any visitors from the portal.

The team has two weeks of practice left, culminating with the Blue-White Game on April 26. The event will not be televised, which breaks the traditional format.
