The Penn State Nittany Lions play the Wisconsin Badgers this weekend on the road in Madison for the team’s final game of October. Head coach James Franklin spoke with the media after the team’s open practice session on Wednesday night. It was a tense and short press conference from Franklin who declined to speak on the sexual assault allegations levied against two of his former players, Jameial Lyons and Kaveion Keys.

Is Penn State ready coming out of its bye week?

There’s no doubt that Penn State has dealt with its share of injuries so far this season, especially to key players. After getting both Nick Singleton and Anthony Donkoh back for the game against USC, where are they now in their recovery? While Franklin didn’t address any specific situations, he talked about the team’s general state after its bye.

“Yeah, I think for the most part, we’re in a pretty good position. We’ve had some of that kind of throughout the season. We kind of had an initial wave of issues. Kind of got through it, and from that point on, I think we’ve been in pretty good shape. I think also, we got some guys that are developing that are coming on, whether it’s Max Granville or [Jaylen] Harvey or Quinton [Martin] or Corey [Smith],” Franklin said.
