Penn State news, notes, and updates for Oct 3 include a look at how former Lions did in the pros plus the start of the bye week, a new 1-0 shirt, and more.

It’s time to dive into Monday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with a look at how former Penn State players performed in the NFL on Sunday. Miles Sanders rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns while Saquon Barkley carried 31 times for 146 yards as both the Eagles and Giants won. He also played quarterback after Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor were both injured.

“When I saw Tyrod go down, I kind of realized I’m up next,”  Barkley said. “I’m the quarterback. First of all, you have to give credit to DJ coming back in the game. I can’t curse, he’s a tough you know what. Nothing but respect for him to go in and continue to fight through that for his team just shows you the type of person and type of player he is.

“I think I just tried my best to read it. It’s really not that hard, I guess, but I think I made the right reads on them. But we were able to keep the ball moving, get down field, get some points and the defense did a great job for us.”

In a matchup of onetime Lions, Micah Parsons had four tackles (one for loss) in a Dallas Cowboys win over Jahan Dotson, who had three catches for 43 yards and a touchdown, and the Washington Commanders.
