Penn State injury updates: What's the latest on Drew Allar, Anthony Donkoh, and Dani Dennis-Sutton?
STATE COLLEGE — Penn State is hopeful that three key and injured Nittany Lions will be able to start on Saturday when his No. 3 team hosts No. 4 Ohio State at Beaver Stadium (Noon ET, FOX). However, in terms of certainty, little has changed since Monday, when head coach James Franklin kicked off his program’s final game week of October by leaving the door open to either possibility in terms of whether or not any or all of quarterback Drew Allar, defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton, and right tackle Anthony Donkoh would play against the Buckeyes. He was asked for an update about Allar’s status only during his final media session of the week, which came following practice on Wednesday.
“At this stage, no new information for you guys,” Franklin said when asked about Allar. “Game time decisions, but so far so good. And, getting both Beau [Pribula] and Drew a ton of reps in practice.”

More on the injured Penn State players
During a practice viewing window for the media earlier Wednesday, Allar went through positional reps and looked good doing so. You can read Nate Bauer’s full impressions of the junior’s session here. Donkoh was at practice, but Dennis-Sutton was not seen during the media viewing window. Again, Franklin was not asked about the latter two on Wednesday night. He was asked, however, about the general process of players battling through injuries on game day if cleared to do so.
“Anything that deals with medical or health and safety, the doctors and the trainers handle that,” Franklin said. “There’s a reality in our game that the trainers will decide if you’re available or not, and then after that, it’s up to the players. And some of that is maturity.

“Some young players haven’t played through some bumps and bruises before. Others have. Some guys, that comes naturally to them right away, the ability to do that. And others have to kind of experience it and figure it out and what they’re able to do and what they’re not. That’s a process, and it’s different for each one of them. But starts with our medical professionals.”
