Penn State football is back on the field today.

STATE COLLEGE — Game day is here, Penn State fans. The No. 7 Nittany Lions meet the No. 24 Iowa Hawkeyes tonight. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on CBS. If you’re not at Beaver Stadium for the White Out game, you can follow along here for live updates, stats, commentary, and more throughout the contest.

“We need the fans to arrive early and be loud, have a full stadium before kickoff,’ Penn State coach James Franklin said this week. “Very similar to what we did at West Virginia. Obviously a ton of respect for the University of Iowa, their football program, the history and traditions there. Coach Ferentz has been there forever and done a phenomenal job. 34th year at Iowa, 25th as the head coach, which is very, very unusual in today’s college football, so it’s cool to see.”

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz also discussed the game ahead of kickoff.

“We’re playing a good football team,” he said. “Everybody expected Penn State to be an outstanding team. After three games that’s certainly what it looks like watching them perform on film. They’re really good, 3-0 and 1-0 in the Big Ten now.

“As expected, Penn State is a really good football team. Can’t remember a year where they weren’t talented. Certainly the case with this team. And they’re well-coached on top of it. They’ve done a great job recruiting. Take a lot of pride in that. And then they do a great job coaching in all three phases.”
