A Penn State offensive lineman has found his transfer destination.

Above all, that’s the headline item in the newsstand for Jan. 20.

However, it’s hardly the only newsworthy nugget to pass along on this penultimate January Thursday. We also look at recruiting and more as the spring semester continues and the path to the NFL Draft continues.

It’s time to review today’s top tweets and headlines about Penn State and college football.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with news from Des Holmes.

The offensive lineman from Pa., has officially found his transfer home. Holmes entered the portal about a month ago. After that, there was little in the way of updates until Wednesday, when he announced that he’s headed to Arizona State next.

Holmes wrote on social media:

“I want to thank God first and foremost for the blessing of the game and it is with great excitement I move on to continue to play the game that I love in a new home in a new chapter of my life! I am proud to officially be committed to Arizona State University. Go Sun Devils!”

In conclusion, this fall will mark Holmes’ sixth college season. However, he had yet to crack the Lions’ full-time starting offensive line lineup before moving on.

After that, we move on to this: College coaches flocked to the Pittsburgh area on Wednesday night for a matchup on the hardwood between two top recruits.
